Maybe a better way to say this is what we are willing to see is all we can ever expect to receive in our lives. When we look at the world with cynical eyes, all we can see is terrible will and tyranny everywhere we look. Our minds become full of images of a downward spiraling world. Without the light of hope, all is lost to those blinded by their own generated angst and discord.
Somehow, at the same time, some individuals see an entirely different version of the world. These fantastic and optimistic people see goodwill at every turn. In the mists of a tragedy, they find hope. When all hope is lost, they find an opportunity to make a change for the better. Through every trial and tribulation, they meet every challenge and find new strength and courage for whatever life throws at them next.
More so, with a clear and open mind, things begin to present themselves that were obscured moments ago. Answers and opportunities may have always been there sitting on the sidelines waiting to be noticed. When we feel clouded and fatigued, it is like there are blinders on pigeonholing our view. Once they are off, the world opens up like a candy store full of delights for the taking.
If what you see is what you get, it is far better to look with better eyes.
