Late in September, we were on a camping trip. Yes, it was a little chilly, but we were bundled up and cozy. When one goes camping, there is a thing called roughing it. We are the roughing it tent and sleeping bag types. Most often we go to places without close plumbing or electric. There is usually a lack of cell phone and internet as well.
With just a pot and a pan, we manage to create appetizing and simple meals. Of course, we boil our water for delicious coffee and hot chocolate. There are so many things we leave behind during these quiet trips into the beautiful woods. We don’t even seem to miss them at all. Without television, work or electronics, we sit around the campfire spending hours in fun and sincere conversation.
Each day camping we manage to survive with so little in the way of luxury. It occurs that we really don’t NEED so much to have a good time with each other or our children.
Food, Shelter and comfortable clothing are all we really NEED. We can then be grateful for all the other luxuries we enjoy every day. And we do.
Be Well, Have Gratitude and Spread Goodwill
