Why does it feel so good to make someone else feel good? Maybe because it feels good to make someone else smile. There will be times that we can lift someone up or help someone without any advantage to ourselves. It’s a totally selfless act that might even be inconvenient at the moment. Yet we know in our heart it is something we should do. Still, we have a choice. Do or do not. It’s a big decision and why shouldn’t it be necessary for us to be of service to our fellow man.
It’s part of our daily bread as we sooth our harrowed soul. Society is a mixed bag full of those who are out helping their fellows regularly while others only sometimes and many almost never. It’s important to be involved with those in need or those out there trying to make a change. The people you effect might not be the person you help but those connected to that person. Life is so connected in so many ways we can never know what our cause and effect have on everything.
Not concerning ourselves with the details, we just need to realize there are causes and effects which give us a more significant purpose and love for our fellows and all life connected.
Even if we are busy in our own lives, giving of oneself is fractional to the whole of one’s life. This fills the gaps in our heart where life has been a little painful from time to time.
Our part is more than being compassionate to others but also to inspire those around us to do the same.
Be Well, Have Gratitude and Spread Goodwill
