November is the month of thanks. We begin looking forward to spending the holidays with friends and family. Each year at Thanksgiving dinner our family talks about all the things we are thankful for. We have a family journal book where we memorialize each family member’s thankfulness.
At the beginning of Thanksgiving dinner, we read the past year’s journal entry and reminisce. This is a lot of fun because sometimes there are funny things that get written in the book as well as some significant achievements. After the reading, we go around the table taking turns talking about what we are grateful for in the current year.
Greater than creating a tradition is sharing a tradition. We hope that sharing our family tradition with all our friends will inspire some to start a Thanksgiving journal as well.
It is so exciting seeing each year how far we have come, the new things that have happened, and how many people we have reached. Look for our post on Thanksgiving for it will include part of this year’s journal entry on Good Scrolls.
Be Well, Have Gratitude and Spread Goodwill
